Beautiful summer in Ireland...
This was our view for the first portion of the Great Irish Roadtrip. A bit dreary and I couldn't quite believe that "this is what summer in nothern Ireland looks like," but also quite romantic and Irish feeling. Alex and I rented the car in Dublin, and then drove through Belfast, Bushmills, Derry, County Donegal, Connemara, Galway, Killarney and finally Kilkenny. Phewww.
We had no plans and just popped into B&B's along the way. It was a great way to wind down from all of the cities we've been in recently.
Amen. This was the theme of about half of the exhibition at the Irish Museum of Daily Life. We only hit this one museum and it was super cool, detailing yearly religious and folk festivals, marriage and burial ceremonies, crafts, and daily chores of Irish families over the past 200 years.
Fields. Lakes. Mountains. Cliffs. And Sheep. Lots and lots and lots of sheep.
Alex modeling his new wool sweater outside of a roadside cafe in Connemara.
Kylemore Abbey outside of Galway.
Cute little Irish shops with the Gothic Cathedral in Kilkenny.
More cute shops and pubs in Kilkenny.
Rolled fields of straw and some beautiful blue sky...finally.
